Entropy, Life and Technology: Towards an Information Therapy

The concept of entropy, understood as a measure of the degree of equilibrium and disorder in a system, represents one of the cornerstones of modern physics. According to the second law of thermodynamics, in an isolated system entropy is destined to increase inexorably, leading towards a state of maximum disorder and energy immobility. However, planet Earth represents a peculiar local exception to this trend: from its formation to the present day, terrestrial entropy has decreased, allowing atoms to assemble into complex biological structures and enabling the evolution of life. This phenomenon does not violate the laws of physics because Earth is not an isolated system, but constantly receives low-entropy energy from the Sun. The universal entropic balance remains positive thanks to the immense heat dissipated by the star, but this "exportation" of disorder into deep space is what has ensured the biological order necessary for the development of biomass.

The current climate and ecological crisis can be reinterpreted through this thermodynamic lens as a violent disruption of planetary equilibrium. In just a few decades, humanity is consuming the solar energy that nature has stored underground in the form of fossil fuels for millions of years. This spontaneous and irreversible reaction produces a massive increase in entropy in an extremely short period of time, generating systemic chaos that goes far beyond simple atmospheric warming. Returning to a sustainable equilibrium would require abandoning every form of energy other than that received instantaneously from the Sun, a challenge that calls into question the very foundations of technological civilization and requires a profound preparation of new generations to manage complex systems in a state of instability.

In the medical field, a pathological event can be interpreted as a positive variation in entropy that alters the coherence of the cellular bioenergetic system. To counteract this disorder, research is moving towards the development of technologies capable of introducing "negentropy" or negative entropy through information. Advanced functional models use specialized equipment to generate electromagnetic fields within the non-ionizing radiation (NIR) range to selectively stimulate biological targets. In this process, artificial intelligence acts as an expert system that dynamically analyzes the cellular response and synthesizes the necessary energy, not in terms of pure thermal power, but of information content capable of restoring the correct functional harmony of the affected cell group.

This vision extends to the dimension of the mind, where quantum physics suggests that thought activity can produce vibrations capable of propagating through space. When the thought waves of different minds come into phase for coherence, a resonance phenomenon occurs that can influence observed reality. The ability to polarize thought towards common and elevated interests reduces the background noise of "ego-centered" thoughts, facilitating a natural synchronization that acts as a catalyst for order. Ultimately, the medicine of the future and the very survival of the species will depend on our ability to understand and manipulate these information flows to stabilize biological and environmental systems against the relentless drive towards entropic disorder.
