Scientific rationale of the formulation
OR Prostata Prime was developed according to the modern concept of multi-target nutraceuticals, an approach that combines natural substances with complementary mechanisms of action to simultaneously address the main biological processes involved in chronic prostate inflammation, oxidative stress, lower urinary tract function, and cellular protection.
Scientific literature shows that the prostate is not affected by a single pathological mechanism, but by the interaction between chronic inflammation, alterations in androgen metabolism, oxidative damage, epigenetic changes, immune alterations, and progressive cell proliferation.
For this reason, the formulation combines highly standardized plant extracts, ensuring a consistent supply of the most extensively studied biologically active compounds.
Green tea extract (Camellia sinensis) standardized to 95% polyphenols – rich in EGCG
Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the most extensively studied catechin in green tea.
Its main biological activities include:
reduction of oxidative stress;
inhibition of the nuclear factor NF-κB;
modulation of the inflammatory response;
reduction of angiogenesis;
induction of apoptosis in altered cells;
protection of DNA from oxidative damage.
The randomized study by Bettuzzi et al. showed that men with high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia treated with green tea catechins had a significant reduction in progression to prostate cancer compared to placebo.
EGCG is also capable of interfering with the androgen receptor and numerous signaling pathways involved in prostate cell growth.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) standardized to 95% curcuminoids
Curcumin is one of the most extensively studied natural polyphenols in oncology.
Numerous studies demonstrate its ability to:
reduce NF-κB;
decrease TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6;
modulate PI3K/Akt;
inhibit mTOR;
reduce androgen receptor expression;
decrease PSA production;
inhibit epithelial-mesenchymal transition;
promote apoptosis.
Several studies also suggest an effect on prostate tumor stem cells, which are considered responsible for disease progression.

Pomegranate (Punica granatum) standardized in ellagic acid
Pomegranate is one of the main dietary sources of ellagitannins and ellagic acid.
These polyphenols exert:
powerful antioxidant activity;
reduction of lipid peroxidation;
modulation of chronic inflammation;
DNA protection;
support of the physiological immune response.
A clinical study published in Clinical Cancer Research observed a slowing of the increase in PSA in men previously treated for prostate cancer.
Further studies suggest a possible supportive role during cancer treatments due to the reduction of oxidative stress.

Tomato lycopene
Lycopene is the carotenoid with the greatest antioxidant activity found in tomatoes.
Its main activities include:
neutralization of free radicals;
reduction of DNA damage;
modulation of cell proliferation;
regulation of intercellular communication;
protection of cell membranes.
A meta-analysis involving over 700,000 subjects highlighted an association between high lycopene intake and a reduced risk of prostate cancer, especially in more aggressive forms.

Broccoli (Brassica oleracea) standardized in sulforaphane
Sulforaphane is one of the most important activators of the Nrf2 pathway.
The activation of this system results in:
increased endogenous antioxidant enzymes;
increased phase II detoxification;
reduction of oxidative stress;
DNA protection;
epigenetic regulation.
The Dashwood study showed that sulforaphane modulates the epigenetic enzyme SUV39H1 involved in the progression of prostate cancer.

Resveratrol (Polygonum cuspidatum)
Resveratrol is a natural stilbene with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, and anti-angiogenic activities.
It modulates numerous molecular targets:
SIRT1;
AMPK;
NF-κB;
PI3K/Akt;
mTOR.
In experimental models, it reduces the growth of prostate tumor cells and promotes apoptosis.

Quercetin is one of the most extensively studied flavonoids.
In the prostate, it exerts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cell membrane stabilizing, and cytokine production modulating activities.
Some clinical studies have also observed an improvement in chronic prostatitis symptoms.

Rationale for the synergy of the formulation
The originality of OR Prostata Prime does not lie in the presence of a single ingredient, but in the synergy of standardized plant extracts that act on complementary biological mechanisms: modulation of oxidative stress (EGCG, lycopene, quercetin, resveratrol), regulation of the inflammatory response (curcumin, green tea, pomegranate), activation of endogenous antioxidant defenses through the Nrf2 pathway (sulforaphane), support of the immune response (Reishi, Agaricus blazei, Echinacea), support of the body during periods of stress (Eleuthero), and maintenance of urinary tract function (Bearberry). This multi-target strategy is consistent with the current understanding of prostate pathophysiology, in which chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, immune alterations, and changes in the cellular microenvironment interact with each other. For this reason, a combined formulation represents a more rational nutraceutical approach compared to the isolated use of individual components.
